Foreign Languages at RMA

Riverside Military Academy Chinese (Mandarin) Class

Riverside Military Academy's foreign language course standards are based on those of the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages and the State of Georgia.

Chinese Studies Program

Our Chinese Studies Program provides an exciting opportunity for our cadets to gain an edge in the world of international business, government, and related fields. The courses are designed to give cadets a foundation in Chinese (Mandarin) language, history, and culture while earning foreign language credits.
Riverside Military Academy Chinese Class All students are exposed to a large amount of Comprehensible Input (95% of the classroom language is Chinese) to help students improve listening and speaking in a second language environment. Students will be able to learn Tai Qi, traditional paper-cutting, Chinese calligraphy, and other cultural items in class.
Students are required to take the HSK test of Chinese language ability at the conclusion of each course. HSK is the internationally accepted standard for evaluating Mandarin Chinese language ability, recognized in universities and business. Students who complete the program and pass the HSK will have a documented professional/academic credential.

Students are introduced to Russian culture and history, developing an overview of how to communicate and interact effectively with Russian people. "Russian: Face to Face" is the foundation of this course.
